Depending on the type and scope of the operation, labiaplasties can be performed under either local or general anaesthesia.

Plan for a short healing period following labiaplasty, though patients typically report only minor restrictions to their daily routines. Though most everyday activities can be resumed almost immediately, sex and sport are best avoided for around six weeks after the operation.
